After the GLC, I went back to a Honda. A Civic SI hatchback, that I was sorta scammed on. Kinda the hot hatch of it's era. I like hatches because they were small and functional -- this one in black, with mag wheels, limo-tint, sunroof, and a fancy key-fob alarm that would roll up the windows and sunroof (that I convinced others was voice activated, because key-fob alarms were new, and they didn't know to check my hands.
I found a great deal on a low-milage used one, and was up in L.A. (I was in O.C.)
The guy wanted to handle the titling, and that raised suspicions... so I had my Uncle check it out (he ran a used car lot for years): it was a salvage and rebuild and the guy wasn't disclosing that (and didn't want me to see it on the title).
My uncle said they did really good work, so I got them to knock a little off the price for being deceptive and bought it anyways.
I tinted it, put in a trick key-fob alarm (before those were a "thing") and stereo, put on some pirate stickers: it was mine.
6 months later it got totaled, when someone ran a red and t-boned me good. The car ended up on the sidewalk, turned around, and only 3 wheels on the ground. I had to go to the police lot later to get the gun I'd kept in there and forgot in the accident. (Ooops).
It was a good hit, and my back was sore for months. The girl that T-boned me was working for Conroy's flowers, and they refused to pay for the car -- which was dumb as it had happened across the street from a sheisters office. So the personal injury attorney got me 3x what I'd been asking, kept half, and I came out ahead... and upgraded to an Acura Integra.
