Look, he later claimed it was a joke, but he had added Goebbels, final solution, and other far leftist claims of Trump: missing that Hitler was a left leaning Socialist. So it was clueless, offensive, and likely not a joke (even if he wasn't completely serious). The ACLU gets some credit for getting him to resign. But the whole thing does reflect on the kind of people that are currently in charge of local chapters of the ACLU and what their tolerance is towards anything but far-left thinking.
