In America, a right the persons and recognized by Government. In other places they think it is the same as "privilege".
In America, a right the persons and recognized by Government. In other places they think it is the same as "privilege". This is a pretty fine distinction for the uninformed (Un-American), but not for those that know what a right is (American). Many think they're free, when really they are slaves that are being granted liberties, as long as the masters decide to allow it.

For all practical purposes, America invented the Constitutional Republic, modern Democracy, and the idea of human rights. Before the U.S., the idea was that people were wards of the Monarch or rulers. And the rulers often had divine authority to decide what liberties the people needed, and how to govern them.

The problem is their delusions were ingrained in their culture, so as they became more like the U.S. and started created Constitutional Democracies, they still had their biases on central authority. So invented things that don't exist, like:

  • Group Rights. (Aka the tyranny of the majority). Just replacing the "people" (or some elites) with the Monarch.
  • Or they created foul ideas like you shouldn't really own your property... government or the collective owns everything and they allow you to use it, unless they change their minds. (The means of production is the state's).
  • You can't make or own tools or things that the "public" disapproves of (really the elites acting as the enforcers for what they told you the public wants) -- so Guns (the tools of self-defense) are verboten.
  • You have "free speech"... but only in designated areas, or if you don't say things that the collective/State disapproves of. Which is another way of saying, you don't have free speech, you are only allowed approved speech and thoughts.

And so on.

Many of these places and people are gullible enough to think they are free, and that their version of rights (aka privileges on loan from the government) is the same thing as American rights. Really, they are just too ignorant or programmed to know the difference.

🗒️ Note:
When COVID came, we saw a good example of who the people who thought they were free, or lived in a "Free Country" weren't free at all. Australia, New Zealand, UK, etc., they forced people to get vaccines, they forced them to stay in their homes, and so on. They weren't free, even if many were bright enough to do 1+1 -- they were children being micromanaged by Mommy Government and put under house arrest, for the "good of the many", even if the Elites made exceptions for themselves.
