Crenshaws wife funneled $350K
The left has been unethically funneling money to family members via their campaign for decades, but did Dan do it too?

Prominent Democrats like the Clintons funnelled millions through their "foundation", James Clyburn was $80K to one daughter and $90K to another daughter (and her husband), Maxine Waters was $1.2M to her daughter, and so on. They have been doing it for many years and the media isn't very interested, and when they talk about it, they leave the party affiliation off of the discussion as much as possible.
In that context, Dan Crenshaw's wife does occasionally contract for a firm (Pink Cilantro), and Dan's campaign does pay for services.
This isn't millions for questionable value. Dan paid the firm $350K over 3 years, and it's pretty easy to see what for. (Lots of ads and promotions).
During that time (≈3 years), his wife made a whopping $60K in commission for book sales. But the Book may be Dan's.
So in the end:
- optics = not good
- odds of corruption/abuse = low but possible
- scale of abuse = minute
That's not to excuse it. Saying, "our corruption / conflict of interest isn't as bad as yours" might be completely true, but the optics are wrong. Stop it, so that we can demand better. But it is important to understand what's going on. The press and left that has no problems with their side doing it, are likely to play up Dan's gaffe. And the anti-Crenshaw republicans (or useful idiots) will use this to bash him. And the optics are bad.
