While I think he's just bullshitting and it wasn't an MP5, nor fully automatic - and that fluff was added to pretend the little preener has some street cred -- if he's lying it shows that he either dishonest or doesn't know gun and just google searched for something that sounded good.

But this shows that he had access to real "Weapons of War" and didn't kill anyone. So the problem is not the tool, but the person behind the gun? Again that dilutes his arguments for gun bbans.

So like most of the time he opens his mouth, he proves the opposite of what he indends to.
