It's not the best BBQ you'll ever have, but it's pretty good, and the best of the chain BBQ (in Cal) that I've had. So I'd give it a solid rating, try it if you aren't religious about BBQ, it's not bad. I've gone back a few times since then. But I have local BBQ or smokehouses that are better.

Ate at Famous Dave's for the first time. I figured it'd be good just based on the name. But I really liked it. The ribs and chopped pork were nice. Liked to the tour of sauce(s). Burnt ends were a good choice -- but a bit on the sweet/caramel side -- so nummy, but can be a bit cloying after a while.

I've definitely had better brisket in Texas (this was dry'ish). But for a chain, you could find the right sauce to appeal to your tastes. And the pork side of the BBQ (e.g. not Texas BBQ) was really good and what I'd go for more than the beef.
