J.D. Vance
Author, venture capitalist, conservative commentator, politician. Hated by the left for not being a poser that their side has.

The left says, "never deny anyone's truths" or perception... when it's Obama having someone else ghost write about how he was a poor black kid from the streets (supported by rich white grandparents), or when it's Joe Biden or AOC pretending to be blue-collar. But when it's a conservative telling a far more real story in his own words, then it's OK to belittle their experiences and be as cynical as you want to.
Like:
- A hit piece in Politico that misses all the salient points. [1]
- Another timed and coordinated hit piece came out questioning his populism/authenticity (8 years after his book release). [2]
Once he became the Republican nominee for the 2022 United States Senate race in Ohio, he became public enemy #1 to Democrats. The only thing that would be worse than being poor, is if he was a black gay/trans conservative. The left hates this guy, because he isn't just a poser like Joe Biden, Obama, or other faux working class Democrat multi-millionaires.

Hillbilly Elegy (Book) |
---|
JD Vance wrote about Appalachian values, his Kentucky family, and growing up in Middletown, Ohio. Some of it is personal about his family's struggles, and a lot of it is about how his issues were the socioeconomic and cultural norms for many in either the Appalachians or Rust Belt working class. |
