Back in the day (late 70's and early 80's) there were a lot of BBS's (Bulletin Board Systems), and the elite ones were for Pirates, Hackers, Crackers and Phreaks. The famous ones in Orange County (where I was from) were Adventurers Tavern, Crows Nest, Pig Sty, and Mousehole. I was on all of them.

The Pig Sty ran a yearly car rally that was a blast... and I was known for the Zaphod Beeblebrox school of offensive driving. I was such a reckless dick behind the wheel that I was infamous.

The Pig Sty was created by Mort Goodman a book binder by trade, a pirate by hobby. I remember Mort's video collection, and being a generous guy. I remember a few of the other hackers: the Freeze (Frank Segler), the Jerk (Alan), The Cracker, The City Slicker, the Anarchist/Waynarchist, the Bishop, Zaphod / the Professionals (me) and Rusty... also Simon Jester in the Mac era. ironically, I think I remember "The Cracker", as not much of a cracker, and him asking lots of questions of the others. But I might be getting him confused with someone else. (40 years is a long time). I was more a Commodore 64 cracker, and most of the others were Apple ][ folks. Later the Mac came around.
