Donald Trump was facing Scampeachment and his 2020 State of the Union Address was one of the best in History. Certainly my lifetime. He mixed national pride, accomplishment, and live examples of the things that he supported and the Democrats opposed in ways that made the Democrats either support his causes (American interests) or look petty and anti-American. They chose the latter path, with Pelosi going so far as to tear up his speech in her own Nancy the ripper saga, that made her and her white witches in congress look petty, anti-American, and like a cult of the irrational. This display will cost Democrats in the polls, which they will blame on Americans being racist-sexist-homophobic-bigots.
The Optics[edit | edit source]
The speech was long, but went by quickly. The former TV star had orchestrated his points with visuals that painted Democrats into corners, and made them show their true colors. The biggest problem the left has is that if the public knows the truth about what they want, it is too radical and extreme, so they lose elections. So Democrats have to lie to win. They need to overstate problems to get people to give up rights or tax dollars for progress, and to overcome the status quo. And they need to lie about how good things are when we're lower taxes/regulations and burdens on the poor, or people will vote for more of that and not for them.
Trump made them either react positively to what he was saying (show their fake feelings) or for the guests he was bringing on to champion his causes: which often would have alienated his base (by rooting for the other side). Or they responded negatively (and showed their true feelings), which kept the base happy -- but showed America what they really stood for. It was a master stroke of PR acumen that completely outplayed them, by someone the left plays off as a dunderhead. Then Nancy Pelosi had a meltdown and tore up the speech, on camera, which played perfectly into his hands.
Nancy the ripper[edit source]
No speaker before Pelosi has ever been classless enough to tear up a speech during the Presidents State of the Union. Including the Civil War. They all had the wisdom to shut up and smile, and take their shots later. But Pelos wanted to distract from a speech that outclassed and outsmarter her side, so had to make it about her. |
The Speech[edit | edit source]
Trump starts by overstating his numbers slightly, both for him and against his predecessors. But this is an intentional trap of his for the media. When they refute his numbers and scream he's a liar (more a fibber), they have to point out things like he didn't create 7 million new jobs (5 million more than his predecessor predicted), it was only 6 million or 5 million or whatever. In the end, to refute him, they have to admit that he made it way better than his predecessor said it would be, and things are pretty damn good. They think he is an idiot for lying, while they fail to realize they are the idiots for being pedantic when he wins the fight. They reinforce in the public the fact that things are better, and he's mostly correct. And the informed voters (with a memory) can contrast the media doing linguistic or logical gymnastics to fawn all over Obama's false claims, while being outraged over smaller errors by Trump: which proves his, "they're out to get me" trope. Or the distrust of authority, plays to him. Only those that would never vote for him anyways, are outraged that he lied... but their outrage costs him nothing. In fact, the more apoplectic they get, the more emotionally irrational whenever his name is brought up -- and the more the reasonable people are turned off by their extreme over-reactions. So he win's by outraging the snowflakes, and doing to them what Obama and the Democrats did to republicans for generations now.
Issue | Trump | Democrats |

|
Democrats: not willing to give Trump an inch, sat on their hands. The take away? Democrats hate America, Minorities and even Women, if it is a Republican helping them. Fuck them all, we'll pout. |
Tony Rankins | Doubled down and rubbed in the economy for minorities. Let's talk opportunity zones (what cutting taxes did). Not just helping the rich as Democrats keep lying, but helping the poor become richer. And bam, his prop of Tony Rankins (black guy, ex homeless guy, Army Veteran, drug addict) was helped by Trump's opportunity zones, started a construction company and got his life back on track. | Democrats: not willing to give Trump an inch, sat on their hands. The take away? Democrats hate black homeless veterans that get their life on track, if they were helped by reducing government/democrat regulations. Democrats said it helped no one by the rich, so Trump showed they were lying. Ouch, that's gonna leave a mark (in the voter roles). |
Criminal Justice Reform | Mentioned criminal justice reform, which Democrats have promised forever, but he delivered and pardoned high visibility folks. And he had just released an ad on Alice Johnson and how his pardon and she had turned her life around and thanked him for doing what the Democrats never bothered to do. | Democrats: not willing to give Trump an inch, sat on their hands. The take away? Democrats never cared about criminal justice reform or the people unfairly languishing in prison Ouch. |
Energy and Manufacturing | Trump talked about how we became the top producer of oil and natural gas -- while Democrats are campaigning on destroying the energy sector and economy in the name of the Green New Deal. And about Manufacturing comeback, after Obama had said, "those jobs are never coming back". Yes, both Democrats and Trump pad their numbers and cherry-pick in their favor -- but if Democrats refute him, they are celebrating hurting blue collar workers. They can't win that one. | Democrats: not willing to give Trump an inch, sat on their hands. The take away? Democrats hate fossil fuels, manufacturing and the people in America that work in or are dependent on them. Ouch. |
NAFTA and USMCA, and China Trade | Trump replaced NAFTA with something better, just like he promised. He got through first round of trade concessions from China. If Democrats cheered it, they could take partial credit (but would have to share a win with him). They chose the low road, which hurts them more than him. | Democrats: not willing to give Trump an inch, sat on their hands. The take away? This was all Trump's success, since Democrats are distancing themselves from it. If you benefit, you owe the Democrats nothing. Ouch. |
Venezuela and Socialism | Trump bashes Socialism (Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans) and Nicolás Maduro... then brings up President of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó. Democrats are fucked. If they cheer, they are cheering freedom, from Socialists (like Bernie Sanders). If they don't and support Socialism, they lose the election. | Democrats: had to cheer freedom over Socialism and they couldn't sit on their hands. The take away? If Socialism is bad everywhere it's been tried, then why is a Socialist the #1 or #2 guy on the Democratic ticket? Sanders and free stuff, might not end well. Ouch. |
United States Military, Space Force and Charles McGee (Tuskegee Airman) | Trump touts what he's done for the U.S. military, how he created Space Force, then weaves in a great grandson's story (Iain Lanphier) with his Great Grandad, one of the first black fighter pilots (and oldest surviving Tuskegee airman). Trump promotes him to Brigadier General to give him a better pension and title, releases a video showing the pinning ceremony. Bam! | Democrats: not willing to give Trump an inch, sat on their hands. The take away? Democrats don't care about the Military, including Black Veterans discriminated against by racist FDR. Ouch. |
School Choice and Janiyah Davis | Trump talks about School Choice as Republicans have been for this for decades. But brings up a little girl (Janiyah Davis) who will benefit from it, and talks about how the Democrat Governor vetoed her opportunity to have school choice. And announces she has a scholarship to pursue her dreams instead of languishing in public school. Bam! Giving a little girl an opportunity, certainly Democrats could clap for that, even if it would alienate their Teachers Unions, Right? | Democrats: not willing to alienate the School Unions, refuse to give Trump an inch, sat on their hands. The take away? Democrats are more beholden to teachers unions and holding kids down, than giving minorities educational opportunities. Ouch. |
School Choice, Janiyah Davis, and Vocational school | Trump talks about School Choice as Republicans have been for this for decades. Then he goes on to call on the Congress to give 1 million American children the same opportunity Janiyah has just received. And the First Lady launched the “Be Best” initiative to help kids. Oh, and Vocational schools -- something that gives many kids opportunities to become highly paid tradesman, instead of being forced to go to liberal indoctrination camps disguised as Universities. | Democrats: not willing to alienate the School Unions (both higher and lower education), refuse to give Trump an inch, sat on their hands. The take away? Democrats are more beholden to teachers unions and holding kids down, than giving minorities educational opportunities. They just hate Republican solutions more than they love Democrat victims (and they hate the First Lady, because she's an elegant multi-lingual immigrant Republican). Ouch. |
Healthcare, Medicare and ACA | Trump weaves back healthcare to both his prior Socialism argument (promising we won't socialize Healthcare, which ACA is), and we will keep it for Americans and stop subsidizing illegal aliens to break our laws to come here and bankrupt our systems. He covers pre-existing conditions, puts barbs in there about how illegals could overwhelm Medicare, and points out all that Democrats are doing to collapse the systems, without saying it outRight. Goes on to talk abouts proposing things like speeding up the FDA, reducing drug prices, and other legislation. (Which hints at Democrats wasting time on things like Scampeachment while Republicans are trying to create solutions). | Democrats: refuse to give Trump an inch, sat on their hands. The take away? Democrats don't want improved healthcare, they want socialized healthcare and open borders which will collapse the system and ruin it for Americans, or to focus on time wasting things like Impeachment. Ouch. |
Immigration and Border Wall | Trump smoothly flows from illegal immigrants overwhelming out healthcare, to illegal immigration, and to his successes on the border wall. | Democrats: pout, look uncomfortable or Pelosi re-arranges her dentures while pre-tearing up his speech and trying to look distracted. The take away? Democrats don't want to fulfill their promises on border security or immigration. Which hurts them with the Blue Collar folks they claim they care about. Ouch. |
Rush Limbaugh | Trump smoothly flows healthcare to China's epidemic, and then to Rush Limbaugh who was just given a stage IV Lung Cancer Diagnosis, and Trump awards him the Presidential Medal of Freedom for all he's done for charity over the decades. Whether you like or hate Limbaugh's amazing career defending free speech and opposing liberal power grabs, his philanthropy is unquestioned. So the Democrats are trapped, if they boo, they are attacking a cancer victim, if they cheer this man they've vilified for decades, they look like hypocrites. | Democrats: are even more uncomfortable and are quiet or grimace while a Great Conservative is honored for a lifetime of achievements. The take away? Democrats don't care about great men, or philanthropists, if they're Republicans. |
Ellie Schneider and Partial Birth Abortion | Trump goes from one patient to another and announces Ellie Schneider and her mother. A premie baby born at 21 weeks, Trump weaves a story about how all life is precious, and demonstrates how Democrats are find murdering kids like this in their appeal to the Pro-Infanticide extreme Left. And calls for money towards passing legislation for neo-natal research and banning late-term abortion of babies. This rocks with his base, is highly persuasive towards the middle, and stings the Democrats by showing how far Left and extreme their positions are. | Democrats: look like someone gave them a turpentine enema. They would throw things if they could. The White Witches of the DNC had interrupted an earlier healthcare part with jeers about H.R. 3 -- which made Joe Wilson's outburst against Obama look classy in contrast, since this was not one person enraged in the moment, but a coordinated attack by a cult. The take away? Democrats don't care about babies, they care about the dollars that Planned Parenthood and the 6th Trimester abortion crowd throws at them. Ouch. Oh, and they don't care about decorum either. |
Environment, Roads, Bridgets | Trump moves to ideas for planting Trees (the environment), Roads, Bridges, Infrastructure, paid family leave, high-speed internet including to rural America (his base and the part of the country/infrastructure that the Democrats leave out)... and what Democrats had been obstructing in the house with their impeachment tantrums. | Democrats: still not looking happy or willing to cheer. The take away? Democrats don't care about infrastructure, Internet, family leave, or rural folks, they care about paying off contributors and inner city voters only. Ouch. |
ICE (Immigration) | Trump talks about ICE -- while Democrats have been badmouthing them or threatening to eliminate them. He talks about victims of Sanctuary City policies and what the Democrat policies cost us. He can't bring up the victims, because many are dead (one raped to death). But he talks about Rocky Jones (who was murdered) and brings up his brother for effect. Then demands justice for Rocky by punishing Sanctuary cities with legal consequences (Victims of Sanctuary Cities Act: where victims families can suit for damages). He brings up Raul Ortiz, who was promoted ICE officer for heroism and accomplishments: putting a face to the vilification and hate that the Democrats have been doing towards ice. | Democrats: are silent and outraged. The take away? Democrats don't care about victims of illegal aliens, because illegals vote for Democrats. Ouch. |
