A friend posted, "Taylor Swift is this decade's Madonna and boy is Madonna pissed."....
That might be true. But Madonna (and some others) got famous by being shocking, lowering public standards and sending some pretty shitty messages to young girls (or youngsters in general). (And fighting each year to stay relevant by lowering the bar further in a desperate plea "Look at me, I still matter")....
It's cheap shlock to appeal to be the lowest/most shocking thing to be the Howard Stern or the Dice Clay of music. And yet society got through it...
Taylor is not my cup of tea. But she's no Lil' Kim, Sophia Urista, or Megan Thee Stallion. So I don't get the cult following of pop idols... or the Kardashians. But in the grand scheme of things, there's a lot worse role model.
