Texas
From iGeek
Texas is the largest State in lower 48. Known for once being an independent nation, and rugged individualism.

- 2016.10.02 Molon Labe - NPR pretentiously tries to mock the 2nd Amendment folks, and makes fools of themselves (on our tax dollar). Again. This whine was about the appropriation of the one true meaning of Molon Labe, and its appropriate use by the 2A proponents, then NPR muddles the history/facts/intent, and forgets about the original use by King Leonidas I of Sparta (480 BC).
- Houston, Texas - Observations about Houston (where we currently live).
- Power Reliability - Texas has its first major blackout in 50 years (2.8M customers), due to a freak storm, failing wind power, a nuclear reactor having to be shut down, and poor planning. California has yearly failures that impact more people, and the national grid has collapsed on far larger scale a half dozen times. But the progressive mock Texas.
- Story of us/2006 San Antonio - We moved to Austin, but San Antonio is only a 90 minute drive, so we visited often. No trip to San Antonio is complete without the Alamo. It's a lot like the missions in California we used to visit. You kind of have to go at least once. Nearby is the River-Walk with some shopping and food: Texas's Venice.
- Texas Diversity - Wallethub (and other polls/studies) are ranking Houston as the #1 most diverse city in the nation, with more Texas cities than any other state ranking in the top 10. It is also far, FAR more "tolerant" than other places I've lived, like L.A. or the Bay Area, or places I went to school like NYC and Chicago. But provincials in those places don't realize it.
