1994.02.03 Mother Teresa v Hillary Clinton

From iGeek
Hillary, "Why do you think we haven't had a Woman President yet?" Mother Teresa, "Because she was aborted".
First Lady Hillary Clinton asked Mother Teresa, "Why do you think we haven't had a Woman President yet?". Mother Teresa replied, "Because she was aborted". It might be lore, but it completely fits with the character and views of both the participants. And Mother Teresa did make a speech at the National Prayer Breakfast that said basically the same things.

In 1994 during the National Prayer Breakfast, First Lady Hillary Clinton asked Mother Teresa, "Why do you think we haven't had a Woman President yet?". Mother Teresa replied, "Because she was aborted". There are a few variants of the story that have been told (and slight variants on date), so it might be lore. But it completely fits with the character and views of both the participants. And Mother Teresa had challenged the Clintons on abortion during the event.

The longer quote of the day (speech) by Mother Teresa is actually more brutal, if slightly less pithy take down of the abortionists in the crowd, so complaining about the voracity of the lesser quote, may not play to their advantage:

❝ The greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love and we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts. Jesus gave even His life to love us. So, the mother who is thinking of abortion, should be helped to love, that is, to give until it hurts her plans, or her free time, to respect the life of her child. The father of that child, whoever he is, must also give until it hurts.

By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems. And, by abortion, that father is told that he does not have to take any responsibility at all for the child he has brought into the world. The father is likely to put other women into the same trouble. So abortion just leads to more abortion. Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion. ❞

Again, I'm pro-choice. I'm just not so stupidly/obnoxiously so that I'll ignore the other side their points or history. There's a good moral argument, and better scientific ones to be made against abortion. And the world is not a better place if we smother or dismember the truth with an abortionist's cannula. If you believe in it, own the brutal reality. Don't cower behind the frauds that there are no consequences or death for advocating your policy.

Abortion is a deeply personal view, but someone's views on it is a window into their soul.

Hillary Clinton
Hillary's scandals that the media ignored or diluted, but defined her, them and her supporters. They were OK with all of this.
