Homophobia

Homophobia literally means the unreasonable fear towards all gay people. Homophobia literally means the unreasonable fear towards all gay people. What it does not mean is what the left is trying to corrupt the term into: any dislike or prejudice of any homosexual person or policy. Everyone that opposed gay-marriage or any pro-gay agenda are homophobes that are worthy of ridicule and scorn, because everyone knows that marriage is a civil-right, this was just like anti-miscegenation laws, and Prop-8 in California was all because of Mormon’s running adds to inflame the other bigots.

While I support gay marriage, most people I met or knew who opposed it, supported civil unions or deregulating marriage completely (with no history of problems with and often supportive of gays). Marriage just has special spiritual meaning and multi-thousand year tradition. Marriage is not a federal issue, and for those who know what the words mean, is certainly not a civil right: it's just a tax/legal status. And Prop 8 passed in California because democrat minorities supported it more than whites.

The definition comes from:

1. Homo (Homosexual) -- meaning tendency to direct sexual desire toward another of the same sex
2. Phobia -- an exaggerated usually inexplicable and illogical fear of a particular object, class of objects, or situation

Those trying to extend the word into any prejudices, or policies are really stretching the word beyond reasonable bounds. Are homosexuals automatically cis-phobic if they don't agree with every policy or person who is straight? Stay reasonable.

🗒️ Note:

I'm pro-Gay marriage myself. But whenever I've ever tried to inject any semblance of counter-balance into an argument where activists are broad brushing and stereotyping the entire other side as bigots, I get called a homophobe. Which shows that we've given the term too much power, and not moderated it, or the people using it. If I'm a homophobe because I fight for gay rights, just not quite to the extreme some activists want, then the word has no meaning.

But here's my cred anyways.
• Gay Therapy - I'm not a fan of the idea of "Gay Therapy". But I'm less a fan of woke bullying or denial of truth. The facts are that for many sexuality is somewhat malleable. (Aka Prison-gay, college Bi, etc). When there's no other option for companionship, some will switch teams. If people can't program themselves, then the entire field of Psychology is a charade.
• Gender Dysphoria - Gender Dysphoria - sex is physical and chromosomes. Gender preference (how we want to act) is a choice. Gender Dysphoria is a tough mental malady (like depression or mania). I'm empathetic and respectful -- but not a truth denialist. You want to associate as a man/woman? Fine. You want to deny chromosomes and force others to play along? Not fine.

• Jesus Fucking Christ - Identity politics/dividing us for votes is not new. The left decided long ago that if the establishment believes X, it must be wrong (unless they're the establishment). Thus the norms are worthy of contempt and mocking, while proclaiming their sides superior tolerance, political correctness and respect. Aka the Hunky Jesus Contest.
• Racism, Sexism, Homophobia - Crybullies have abused words like Racism, Sexism, Homophobia from once having meaning and bite, to being things that idiot wokies call everything they disagree with, and thus having no meaning or bite. Statisical observation is racism or sexism. Supporting gays but not gay marriage is homophobia. Their words mean nothing any more.
• Rainbow Flag - Before the rainbow flag (way back to June 24, 1978), the symbol for gay pride was the pink triangle, because the Nazis used that symbol to denote gays from other prisoners in the concentration camps (for special harassment). I respect the hell out of turning something ugly into something to be proud of overcoming. The rainbow flag is the antithesis of that.
• Survivorgate - A player on survivor outed another as trans, the SJW's had a meltdown. When fascism comes to America it will look like anti-fascism. Just like this. He was dick. Lots of people are dicks (or do dicky things). I'm over it. I'm more outraged at the outrage.... and hypocrisy.
• Trans athletes - Transgenders mental disorder gives them a harder life, and the last thing I want to do is to make someones life harder than it needs to be. But biological men competing in women’s sports, ruins women’s sports.
• Trans-Actors - BuzzFeed and other far-left SJW organizations seeing injustices everywhere, and trying to create something they can't: a world that is far. With the raririty of trans comes a lack of need for trans actors. Thus a few trans-actors whining about how they don't get pay equity (or jobs) doesn't prove anything, it hints at a lack of talent, or a lack of need.
• Trans-tolerance, Charlotte and Lady's Restrooms - I support trans-folks being able to use whatever bathroom they want. Right up until they try to bully others and pass laws forcing others to adapt to their delusion. That's where they jump the shark and go from defending the little guy, into being the bullies.
• Transgender Expert Twitter-blocked for quoting the DSM-5 - Ray Blanchard a Toronto-based PhD, specialist on paraphilia for DSM-5, expressed his scientifically based opinion on transgenderism. Blanchard stated the view expressed by the APA, which defines transgenderism as a "type of mental disorder." So Twitter locked his account, and likely would have banned him if there wasn't such a backlash.
• Transgender NatGeo - I have Trans friends, and I have no problems with Trans adults. I have a problem with over-encouraging it in every kid that's exporing it for attention. Gender Dysphoria a serious psychological disorder that we shouldn't encourage any more than we should encourage other body image disorders like Anorexia, Bulimia.
• Transgender and Chickens - Child to Mom: "I'm a chicken". Mom to Child: "That's absurd. You have no beak, no feathers, you don't lay eggs and you don't like bird seed." Child to Mom: "you're wrong, I know I'm a chicken." Mom to therapist: "help me out here." Therapist to mother: "You're the one arguing with a chicken."

It does not mean what the left is trying to corrupt the term into: any dislike of any trans activist or policy. Disliking pervs using the bathroom with their little girls/wives, or M2F trans athletes destroying Women's sports is not necessarily transphobic
• Trump v. Tranny Brigade - Why did Trump do ban of trans in the Army? Because it didn't help our military effectiveness and got too political. I'm not a fan of that action, but it is blown way out of proportion, it was mostly the Democrats fault, and of all the things to get irritated with him on, this doesn't make the top 10.
