Documenting MSNBC's bias or errors is a Sisyphusian task similar to naming all the victims of the Holocaust. Documenting MSNBC's bias or errors is a Sisyphusian task similar to naming all the victims of the Holocaust. Ed Shultz, Chris Matthews, Tom Brokaw, Mika, Maddow, it's a cornocopia of incompetence and bias. Here's a few nuggets, greatest misses, and things that can point out the obvious to those capable of getting it. |

History of Cable News Channels[edit source]
CNN entered the left-wing propaganda-as-news market in 1980, 1996 FoxNews/MSNBC came on the scene as the antidote and farther left alternatives. FoxNews found the underserved 75% that was moderate or conservative. MSNBC shaved away those that perfered their leftist dogma in suppository form. Leaving CNN the gullible middle left and sex offenders.

🗒️ Note: |
FakeNews (Junk News or yellow journalism) is when legitimate stories or facts are suppressed, journalistic standards aren't adhered to, half truths are told, or a narrative spun to where the story becomes misleading or false. Think: manufactured crises, hoaxes, clickbait (sensational teasers/headlines with buried facts), bias or selective fact-checking, anonymous or paid sources, minor stories obscuring more significant news, delaying or ignoring newsworthy events, are all forms of FakeNews. Most retractions or corrections are evidence of shoddy standards and/or editorial bias creating FakeNews. |
This area doesn't get the attention it deserves, but I just can't watch MSNBC and type that much. It's kinda not fair to hold them to the same standards as others, because others have both News and Opinion shows, MSDNC only does opinions, an only far left opinions. But examples of getting it wrong include:
2017 Republicans funded the Dossier -
FakeNews repeated leftist agitprop that the Republicans funded the PeePee Dossier, thus it must be true. It was Hillary all along. Yet the media kept repeating the lie, or slow-rolling or burying the corrections. No social media punished anyone for repeating the disinformation that it was Republican-funded.
2017.05 James Comey Firing -
For 6 months the media and Democrats had demanded the firing of James Comey. Trump waited until an FBI report cited evidence of gross misconduct, and then the AG fired Comey after consulting with Trump. The Democrats and their Media (NYT, WaPo, Politico, CNN, MSNBC), switched sides and screamed that this was illegal, obstruction of justice, proof of Russia collusion.
2017.05.10 anti-Wikileaks -
WikiLeaks has 100% perfect record of authentic and accurately-vetted releases, so NPR and MSNBC tried to trash for their better record by pointing to non-Wikileaks content, and pointing out that since some of it isn't valid, then you shouldn't trust Wikileaks. That's like claiming you shoudn't trust NPR and MSNBC because some of their guests lie.
2017.08.28 Ted Cruz Ambush -
To give you an idea of the kind of ambush politics MSNBC plays, in the middle of a Natural Disaster (Harvey), where Ted Cruz is talking about disaster relief, Katy Tur ambushes Cruz over non support of a 2012 pork-laden Hurricane Sandy bill (called Sandy Scam).
2018.05.03 Cohen Wiretap -
MSNBC/NBC broke the story, "“Feds tapped Trump lawyer Michael Cohen’s phones,” -- and later altered the story to say, "Feds are monitoring, not listening to Cohen’s calls”: Instead of a wiretap, investigators obtained what’s known as a pen register warrant, where they get to see a log of calls made and durations, not audio of what was said.
2018.06.19 Space Force -
In response to China's increased militarization of space, and Russia creating a Space Force, Donald Trump announced that he wanted to split the Air Force Space efforts into a separate agency. The Democrats and their media attacked the idea, ABC news spun it as racist, MSNBC and other outlets just mocked the idea and omitted context and balance in the discussion.
2019.01.28 More Press Briefings to ignore -
CNN whines on one day that they need more press briefings, then they (or MSNBC) won't break into their far-left opinion shows, to show those briefing live, preferring to mis-paraphrase or omit context at their will (trying to forward their message, instead of honestly sharing the administrations message).
2019.02.05 Don Jr's Call Logs -
For months Maddow inflamed her watchers with the FakeNews that Don Jr. was in contact with "the Russians"... then when the story is debunked, Maddow brings on the accuser (Shifty Shiff), has him repeat the claims, then fails to correct or challenge him or the record. No clarification, retraction or correction, just on to the next lie.
2019.03.02 Lies about Sanders' Speech -
MSNBC is the propaganda arm of the DNC, and when they get caught making mistakes, will they correct them? The answer would be "no", like most mistakes. Bernie is a threat to the DNC establishment, so the truth takes a backseat to the agenda. And the Intercept earns a gold star for doing actual journalism and calling them out on it.
2019.03.28 Yashar Ali bullied -
Yahir (NYT/HuffPo contributor) explains how head of NBC/MSNBC politics (Dafna Linzer) called Ali, and tried to bully him on behalf of the DNC, in what was a wildly inappropriate and unethical way. Of course neither she, nor the network would comment on this atrociously partisan behavior.
2019.08.25 NYT outraged that people are quoting their journalists offensive posts -
NYT outs others on the worst things they ever said (out of context, and without scale). Then whines when others do it back to them or their journalists, usually on the very thing they're attacking others on. While I'm not a fan of the technique, turn-about is far more fair, than their original game of nobody that made a mistake should disagree with the left.
Abu Bakr al-Baghadai -
The founder of ISIS died by blowing himself up as U.S. special forces were closing in. The leftstream media fucked up reporting this victory as much possible, calling Al-Baghdadi a religious scholar, claiming this would help ISIS, or complaining that Trump didn't tell anti-Americans (Pelosi/Schiff) about the raid in advance, so they could leak it to our enemies.
COVID is a hoax -
Politico ran a piece titled, "Trump rallies his base to treat coronavirus as a ‘hoax’". (CNN, MSNBC, leftist polemics and politicians repeated it). He didn't. They lied. Trump called the effort to blame him for COVID a hoax. Even FakeNews Fact Checkers had to admit it.
Christian Nationalism -
The latest dog whistle for the ignorati is the fake label of "Christian Nationalism" and fear porn around them breaking America. Except that Nationalism, Christian Nation, is better than the alternatives. And Separation of Church and state and other implications, make you actively dumber if you believe them.
Covington High School Confrontation -
NYT and MSM published an article claiming Covington HS kids mobbed a Native American and an Indigenous People's march. All false. The truth is the story was almost completely flipped; obnoxious activists attacked the kids for right to life march, got in their face, and they remained calm. Later they sued for Defamation and won, bigly for the FakeNews Medias lies.
Deceptive editing of Barr video -
05/10/2020 Chuch Todd deceptively edited a video of Bill Barr, and omitted the context that Todd goes on to criticize Barr over. Whether Todd was trying to entrap his interviewee, just make Barr look bad, bury the evidence that it was a good ruling, or all of the above, that's not what anyone that calls themselves a Journalist is supposed to do.
Leaving Paris Climate Accord is racist -
The ACLU moronically claims that pulling out of the do-nothing Paris Climate Accord was fostering racism, other outlets claim it's the end of civilization (or American leadership).
Lysolgate -
After a COVID briefing on how to kill COVID w/UV light and disinfectants, Trump made a passing comment to the presenter about using these ideas in vitro (in the body). The Press lost their nut, and was claiming he's trying to get people to breathe drain cleaner or shoot Lysol into their veins or something. You can't make this up.
Trump ordered Cohen to lie to investigators -
Trump had ordered his Attorney (Michael Cohen) to lie to investigators, or so the Press Reported. This set off the Democrat's impeachment Tourettes. Never mind that it was implausible, from an unreliable author, anonymously sourced, and made no sense. FakeNews reported it. Mueller later admitted it was bullshit. And after a lot of fanfare, it went away.
U.S. Massacres/Gabby Giffords (Tucson) -
Known drug and alcohol abuser with history of mental issues and arrests, suspended from college (sent a letter to his parents for his disruptions), rabid fan of Zeitgeist: The Movie, sent letter threatening to assassinate Gifford and attended her events. Left a message on friends answering machine and on myspace, was stopped for running a red-light, then took a cab to event where he shot Gabby Giffords. Stopped by Joseph Zamudio a CCW holder.
U.S. Massacres/Las Vegas -
Letter carrier/IRS agent, shot into a country music festival from Nearby Hotel (Mandalay Bay). 23 guns, explosives, he used the least effective rifles, and his attempt to blow up a fuel tank at the airport didn't work. He killed himself after 10 minutes. The police took 65 minutes to breach his room.

Conflating charges/conviction with criminal activities is the perfect example of the kind of propagandized FakeNews they do.
- The quality of the sourcing is such that they can't spell Geroge W. Bush's name right
- or know enough to be consistent with middle initials shows a certain sloppiness
- Using the Daily Kos as a source, where there are so many better places to get this info...
But all that pales compared to the point itself.
Rather than actual number of criminal activities, convictions and indictments only proves that Republicans let their side be convicted, or that they aren't a sloppy with spurious allegations, or the Democrats obstruct justice better. And since some of the people served in both administrations, just that Republicans aren't willing to let the same people get away with the same activities once they're in office. And there's a whole lot of slop in how you account for stuff. (One person on 9 charges, or 9 people with one charge each). It doesn't even show what they think it shows.
To have any depth of understanding, you'd have to count number and severity of scandals. There are no indictments on things like Hillary's pay-for-play deals, or email scandals, but they were felonies far more severe than some of the lying to congress charges they got some others on. So you actively get dumber (less informed) by listening to MSNBC.
