And the goal is to play gotcha or misrepresent anything a conservative says, usually with out of context lies of omission, but often delving into just outright lies.

Media Matters on Guns - Here's MM's Deputy Director of Rapid Response arguing that the AR-15 stands for Assault Rifle 15th revision. For the record, it stands for Armalite (the company that first made it and it would take about 30 seconds to verify that). But this guy has tripled down, claiming he knows what he's talking about. Yeah, about as much as his readers do, which isn't much.
Media Matters on Tucker Carlson - MM threw a hit piece on Tucker Carlson over comments made on a Shock Jock radio show, that frankly, don't seem that bad... just stuff that would offend snowflakes (even with all the context stripped out). But it turns out their own comments are worse.
WaPo mislabels Shapiro Alt-Right - WaPo published a couple articles that imply Ben Shapiro, is alt-right (or linked him to famous racist Richard Spencer). Ben is a devout Jew, and been one of the leading critics of the alt-right... and the feeling was mutual. If WaPo had journalists or fact checkers, they'd feel shame. Media Matters defended the hit piece, and attacked Ben more.
